RVPE Foundation began in 2009 to meet the need of supporting and empowering adults with disabilities in School Districts 191 (Burnsville, Eagan, Savage), 192 (Farmington), 194 (Lakeville), 195 (Randolph) and 196 (Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan). The mission of RVPE Foundation is to seek funding resources and actively manage funds to support a vital program for adults with disabilities, namely River Valley Project Explore.
Our number one goal is to enhance existing programming and provide a funding source for event sponsorship, class supplies and equipment as well as scholarships. The Foundation works cooperatively with the Project Explore Advisory Council and program staff to support advocacy and fund raising programs as well as the disbursement of funds that ensure the program's ongoing success.
Our initial fund raising efforts have included a number of successful annual bowl-a-thons, and we continue to organize a yearly raffle at Project Explore's summer dance. All proceeds go directly into the enhancement of Project Explore programming and reducing activity costs.
We are driven by our volunteer board of directors comprised of parents, community members, and ex officio members. We are committed to being good stewards of all contributions we receive. All of our members have personal interest in the success of this Foundation through our own life experiences, and our commitment.
